Coho Bon Voyage – Sunday June 5th, 2016, 11 am – 2 pm

Parents and kids welcome! Every year on the first Sunday in June the Bowen Island Fish & Wildlife Club has an Open House at the Terminal Creek Salmon Hatchery in Crippen Park on Bowen Island. This is a very special event for Bowen Island children because they help Club volunteers release the last of the coho fry, which have been raised at the hatchery, into Terminal Creek.

Children are encouraged to bring their parents and teach them about the importance of salmon and the health of our fish-bearing streams. The entire community is invited to attend Coho Bon Voyage – a fun family event which has become a Bowen Island tradition.

Club members will be on hand to answer any questions and Metro Vancouver Parks also has an Interactive display. The event is always well attended and fun is had by all.

We call this celebration the “Coho Bon Voyage”. Everyone of any age is invited to release the wild Coho Salmon into Terminal Creek right at the Hatchery location in Crippen Regional Park.
